Bladder Cancer is cancer which begins in the bladder – an organ which is shaped like a balloon located in the pelvic area and is where urine is stored. Bladder cancer most frequently starts in the cells which line the interior of the bladder. Cancer of the bladder typically affects only older adults, but it is possible that this type of cancer can occur at any stage of life.
The majority of cancers of the bladder are normally diagnosed in a stage which is early and when the cancer is more able to be treated. But, even when caught in early-stage, cancer of the bladder is prone to return. This is the reason that survivors of cancer of the bladder go through follow-up exams to check for recurrence of cancer for years once treatment has been completed.

It is not often clear what reasons cause cancer of the bladder. Bladder cancer has been connected to parasitic infection, chemical exposure, radiation exposure as well as smoking.
Cancer of the bladder develops when healthy cells of the bladder go wrong. Instead of dividing and growing in a normal manner, these cells grow mutations which cause them to develop growth which is out of control and don’t die. These atypical cells eventually form a tumor.
